NEW FITNESS MANTRA COMES TO TOWN
An exclusive fitness centre launched at Juhu spearheads the club’s ambitious plan to start 100 other centres across India and even abroad
Country Club India Ltd. (CCIL), one of India’s largest and fastest growing leisure and entertainment conglomerates, has opened an exclusive fitness centre at Gazebo House, Juhu, Mumbai. Inaugurated by Aarti Chabria on October 11, this latest fitness centre has state-of-the-art equipment and qualified trainers.
The launch is part of the club’s ‘350 crore expansion plan that aims at creating fitness centres across India and abroad. CCIL Chairman Y Rajeev Reddy says, “The club is expanding and diversifying its product and services portfolio for its members. We are investing to create a chain of 100 standalone fitness centres across the country in the next four years. Each fitness centre will have a dedicated booking desk for members to chalk out vacation plans at ease. These centres, that will be spread over 4,000 to 10,000 sq ft, will be well-managed and will also have the latest equipment and experts on board to address the fitness needs of our members.”
Commenting on the twin concept of fitness and vacations, Rajeev says, “Along with increased health consciousness, an increasing number of Indians are travelling both within the country and internationally. We are combining the concepts of fitness and a lifetime of customised vacations to create a win-win proposition for our members. In fact, we have received excellent response to the three pilot projects, which we recently launched at Ahmedabad,
Chandigarh and Kolkata.”
In the first phase, Country Club intends to focus on multiple locations in major metros. Thereafter, it would make a foray into tier-two cities with the aim of establishing a pan India network. The club, which is on an international expansion mode, also intends to take this fitness initiative offshore to boost its NRI memberships. “The ultra-modern fitness facilities add value to our product offering, and will help attract more people towards the brand. All our members can stay committed to their fitness regimen while enjoying their holidays with our national and international network,” Rajeev adds. CCIL currently has operations in Middle East, Sri Lanka and Thailand. It owns and operates over 55 clubs across India and abroad and has over three lakh members.
