Day 3 was Indian textile day and the crafts were celebrated throughout the day. An error was averted when a backstage personnel realised a few minutes before Krishna Mehta’s show began, that model Samantha Singh was not wearing the innermost layer of her ensemble — a long off-white skirt with embellishments. A few rushed moments later, she was all sorted to walk the ramp with the others. Some models were not happy about the fact that this season, fashion week would not see a closing party after the grand finale that’s happening tonight. Some felt organisers were probably cost cutting. Instead there was a mid-week party on Sunday at a club in Bandra which our sources felt would mean that many walking the ramp or showcasing would not attend, and those who did would drink less as some had work the next day. Though there is a pre-show cocktails scheduled prior to the finale, that could be a smaller affair. Sunday night saw a mini celebration at the mid-week party as fashionistas gathered around as a model brought in her birthday. Shots were passed around as everyone cheered and let their hair down. The mid-week soiree started off slow but that all changed post midnight when designer Anita Walia and a friend Samuel broke into an impromptu dance off in the middle of the floor. Suddenly there were spotlights and catcalls as the crowd gathered to watch. Encouraged by the duo, bystanders then took to the floor.
