A special exhibit of silk and cotton saris and fabrics is in town for the city’s shopaholics

The Silk & Cotton Fab of India, is a special 
showcase of silk and cotton saris and dress materials from all over 
India. Curated by the Cotton Silk Weavers Welfare Association, this 
exhibition is a one-stop shopping centre for all Mumbaikars with a love 
for traditional Indian attire. From chic party wear with a perfect blend
 of urban and ethnic karigari to the evergreen traditional designs, the 
exhibition caters to the young as well as a seasoned dresser of ethnic 
garb. 
The exhibition includes a variety of collections from around the country including Coimbatore cottons, Kanjeevaram silks, Mysore silks, crepe and georgette saris, Bengaluru silks, kalamkari and Pochampally. Also at the exhibition one can find Tussar, Kanth and Bhagalpur silk dress materials, khadi silks, and saris of kosa, ghicha and mulberry raw silk. On sale are fabrics like bandhani, Patola and Tabi silk saris, pashmina shawls, Chanderi and Maheshwari cottons and silks, Jaipur block prints and Sanganeri prints, as well as Tanchoi, Banarasi jamdani, kantha saris, baluchari and neemzari saris. Craftsman from all over India put their works on display at this exhibition which is on at PL Deshpandey, Ravindra Natya Mandir in Dadar West till 9 pm tomorrow.  |
