हिरोती म्हणजे काय ? असा प्रश्न आपल्याला विचारला तर अर्थ कळण्याचे कारण नाही. हिऱ्याला पैलू पाडण्यासाठी उपयोगात आणले जाणारे एखादे साधन असावे असे तर्कट एखादी व्यक्ती चालवेल. मुळात हिरोतीशी साध्यर्म साधणारा मराठीतील शब्द आहे मिरची पूड. मिरच्या वाळवून पूड केली की बनते ते तिखट. हिरोती हा झाडीबोलीतील शब्द. तिखट हा अर्थ देखील परिपूर्ण नाही असे जाणकार म्हणतात. तिखट ही चव आहे. हिरोतीला चक्कीतून दळलेली मिरची म्हणता येईल. हिरोती हे नाम आहे. तिखट हे विशेषण. गुळाचा समानार्थी शब्द गोड होऊ शकत नाही. तसा हिरोतीचा अर्थ तिखट होणार नाही. बोलींच्या अभ्यासातून अशी बरीच रंजक माहिती पुढे येते.

पूर्व विदर्भाशिवाय दुर्गचा परिसर, मध्यप्रदेश, आंध्र आणि तेलंगणाच्या काही भागातही या बोलीचा विस्तार आढळतो. पूर्व विदर्भालगतच्या भागात आधी ८० टक्के झाडीबोली होती. प्रमाण भाषांमुळे बोलीचे महत्त्व हळुहळू लोप पावले. त्यातील शब्दांच्या गमतीजमती अनेक आहेत. कोंडणे म्हणजे बंद करणे. कोंडारणे या मूळ झाडीबोलीतील शब्दामुळे तो रूढ झाला असे सांगितले तर आश्चर्य वाटेल. बोलींमधील श्रमविभागणी व्यापक असल्याचे तथ्य अभ्यासाअंती पुढे येते. साधारणतः गुरे राखणाऱ्यांना गोपाल हा शब्द संस्कृत किंवा हिंदीत येतो. झाडीबोलीत गायी राखणाऱ्याला गायकी, म्हशी राखणाऱ्याला म्हसकी आणि गुरे राखणाऱ्याला ढोरकी असे वेगवेगळे शब्द आहेत. अशी वाटणी शेतातील कामांवरून देखील आढ‍ळते. धानाची म्हणजे भाताची शेती पूर्व विदर्भात होते. तिथे शेतात भाताचे रोप लावण्याच्या क्रियेला रोवणी म्हणतात. पाणी भरणाऱ्याला पानकर, पेंड्या टाकणाऱ्याला पेंडकर अशा पोटशब्दांची यादीही दिसते. प्रमाण भाषेपेक्षाही बोली अशा वैविध्याने नटल्या आहेत. संस्कृत आणि झाडी या समकालीन भाषा असल्या तरी संस्कृतपेक्षा झाडी जुनी असल्याचा दावा अभ्यासक हरिश्चंद्र बोरकरांनी केला होता. मराठीपेक्षाही झाडीबोलीची Jhadiboli ज्येष्ठता सिद्ध करण्याची तयारी त्यांनी दर्शविली होती. मराठी बोली साहित्य संघाचे ते अध्यक्ष आहेत. यंदा जानेवारीतील संमेलनाचा समावेश केला तर झाडीबोली साहित्य मंडळातर्फे २४ झाडीबोली संमेलने घेण्याची कामगिरी झाडीबोली चळवळीच्या नावावर नोंदली आहे. भरीव शासकीय मदतीविना चालणाऱ्या अशा तळमळीला दाद द्यायला हवी.

झाडीबोलीत रुळलेला आणखी एक शब्द म्हणजे बेंडवा. रात्री ज्या टोपल्यात किंवा वेताच्या कमानीत कोंबड्यांना एकत्र केले जाते, तो बेंडवा. प्रमाण मराठीत त्याला कोंबडीघर म्हणता येईल. बोलींना बेंडू नका, त्यांना मुक्त करा ही साद अनेकदा दिली जाते. त्यातील बेंडणे या बेंडव्यातून आले असते. पूर्व विदर्भात माडिया, गोंडीचा संकर आहे मेळघाट परिसरात कोरकूचा प्रभाव आहे. कोवे कोवे कुई कुई, नीवा तोकतकु पालनेई... म्हणजे काय? बालपणी एक बडबडगीत अनेक शाळांमधून शिकविले जायचे, बंदर बंदर हुप, तुझ्या शेपटीला तूप. या ओळींचे माडिया रुपांतर म्हणजे कोवे कोवे. लोकगीतांमधील सहजता अशी असते. भावले ते स्वीकारले अशी भावना त्यामागे असते. ही स्वीकारार्हता सहजतेने बोलींमध्ये संक्रमित झाली तर लिपींमध्ये येऊ न शकलेले मोठे 'घबाड' गवसेल. 'चिऊ ये, काऊ ये, दाना खा, पाणी पी, भुर्रकन उडून जा' अशा गोष्टी कुठल्याही पुस्तकात नसतात. पिढीजात कथनातून झिरपलेले हे अस्सल वाङ्मय फक्त प्रमाण भाषांमध्येच असते असे नाही. 'कोवे कोवे कुई कुई' ची दखल महाराष्ट्र राज्य शैक्षणिक संशोधन व प्रशिक्षण परिषदेने आदिभारती-माडिया –गोंडी या शिक्षकांसाठी काढलेल्या हस्तपुस्तिकेत घेतली आहे. अगदी पहिलीच्या मुलांसाठी माडिया गोंडीतून काढलेले पुस्तक म्हणजे आदिभारती. खूप छान, फारच उत्तम अशा वेगवेगळ्या विशेषणांनी मराठीतील अर्थ ध्वनित करता येतो. माडियात मात्र त्यासाठी बेस हा एकच शब्द आहे. लई बेस हा त्याचा अलीकडील ठाशीव ग्रामीण अविष्कार. माडिया गोंडीत वेल्हे वेल्हे म्हणजे लवकर लवकर. हाटुम म्हणजे बाजार. हा बाजारहाटशी संबंधित शब्द आहे की काय याची कल्पना नाही. असे अनेक शब्द नागपुरी, कुडाळी, भिल्लीतही Nagpuri, kudali, Bhilliअसतील.

फक्त बोली नव्हे पालीही वाढली पाहिजे. सर्वच भाषांमध्ये संशोधन व्हायला हवे. त्यासाठी ग्रामीण भाग पालथा घालायला हवा. डॉ. गणेश देवी यांचे कार्य यादृष्टीने खूप मोठे आहे. विदर्भ संशोधन मंडळाची स्थापना १९३४ मध्ये झाली. नव्या मराठी राज्यात भाषा संशोधनाचे काम जोमाने व्हावे आणि विदर्भासाठी तसे स्वतंत्र खाते असावे अशी अपेक्षा ज्येष्ठ साहित्यिक ना. रा. शेंडे यांनी विदर्भ साहित्य संघाच्या १९६० मध्ये झालेल्या संमेलनाच्या अध्यक्षपदावरून व्यक्त केली होती. परकीय भाषांची भेसळ आपल्याला चालते. रेडिओ मिर्ची हा शब्द खासगी संगीत वाहिनी म्हणून आपण स्वीकारला. रेडिओ या इंग्रजी शब्दासोबत हिंदीतील मिर्ची जोडली जाते. लोकप्रिय होते. हिरोती उपेक्षितच राहते. वस्तुस्थिती तशी झोंबणारी आहे. एकमेकांच्या बोलींना हिणविण्यापेक्षा मराठी उन्नत करायला हवी. मध्यंतरी अमरावती विद्यापीठाने कवी विठ्ठल वाघ यांच्या नेतृत्वात प्रादेशिक भाषांमधील म्हणी, वाक्प्रचार शोधून काढण्याचा प्रयत्न केला. अन्य विद्यापीठांपर्यंत ती चळवळ पोहोचली नाही. गावांकडे चला, बोलींकडे वळा अशी घोषणा देऊन बोलींचे उत्खनन झाले तर मायमराठी अलंकृत होऊ शकेल.

 It's not the language of money alone that makes Maharashtra rich. When the western state speaks, it does so in 38 different tongues and more, making it one of the most linguistically wealthy places, according to a recent language survey.

The results of People's Linguistic Survey (PLSI), a community-driven documentation of Indian languages by Vadodara-based Bhasha Research and Publication Centre, will be out in August. A bid to preserve the heritage of local dialects in the region has begun with the launch of a project to record and produce a dictionary of the local Marathi dialect spoken by East Indians in the Mumbai region.

The project is being undertaken by the Mumbai Gaothan Panchayat, an organization formed to promote the interests of the people living in traditional gaothans (villages). Panchayat leader Gleason Baretto said the dictionary will be in Marathi and English and will serve to preserve the language of the region.

The East Indians, the local Christian community along with other Hindu communities, constitute the earliest inhabitants of the region.

One of the organizers of the project, Prem Moraes, said several teams will work on the dictionary."We will take into consideration the various types of Marathi spoken by the different communities in the region. We know that the Marathi spoken in Bandra is different from the Marathi spoken in the gaothans in Marol, and will make allowances of it,'' he said.

Reacting to the move to preserve the heritage of the region, head of the Head of history department of St Xavier's College Fleur D'Souza commended the project.. "Dialects are disappearing all over the country and the globe and this effort will go a long way in instilling a sense of pride in the local community and an interest in their language. Mendes said the Kokni spoken in the region has influences from other cultures as well. Apart from Sanskrit it has been influenced by Portuguese during the time the city was ruled by the Portuguese. Prem Moraes said the project should be ready by next May and will be put up on the community website.

As for other scheduled languages, Bengali was the most spoken mother-tongue after Hindi (with 8.11% of the country's population citing it as their mother tongue), followed by Telugu (7.19%), Marathi (6.99%), Tamil (5.91%) and Urdu (5.01%).

Importantly, barely a dozen states - including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi and Jharkhand - had a majority of their population listing Hindi as their mother tongue.

While the percentage of those citing Hindi as their mother tongue has steadily grown since 1971, most other scheduled languages have seen a decline in speakers as a percentage of the population. The percentage of Hindi-speaking people in the total population grew from 36.99% in 1971 to 38.74% in 1981 and 39.29% in 1991, before touching 41.03% in 2001. Such has been the frenzy of the Marathi film Sairat (loosely put Wild).

The film is getting wilder and wilder and just like the teenagers in the film, it has broken norms related to regional cinema and not conformed and constricted to its geography if one takes into account its all-pervaded acceptance. So, what exactly has worked for the film? Most importantly, why it has worked so well with the non-Marathi audience even after six weeks of its release? To understand this, one needs to understand the various ideas which were thoroughly executed in the film.

Sairat is a perfect confluence of what is familiar and what is personal. The demarcation is conspicuous when the plot of the film is juxtaposed with seething symbolism and personal truths that expose our deep-seated violent, inhuman and destructive conditionings. In large sense, it caters to both an aesthete of cinema and escapist consumer of cinema in Marathi and non-Marathi audiences.

The personal truths

The most striking feature of Sairat is its treatment. It is not just a love story of an oppressed caste boy and a high caste girl. It is much more than that. It is the evocativeness in the treatment of the story and it is largely due to the film's director. In most films based on caste politics, social oppression and injustice there is high likelihood that the filmmaker would be from upper caste who would present an outside-in picture of the story. But since the director of the film Nagraj Manjule himself being of the same caste as the protagonist, there is touching authenticity and depth to the narrative. Piyush Roy, a film historian with University of Edinburgh says, "After a long time I have seen a film on people from oppressed caste by a person from the same caste. This gives a startling honesty and evocative depth to the narrative. It gives an inside-out perspective on the regressive social mores of our society."


Besides this, there are five critical overarching elements of the film that have worked with non-Marathi audience. First, it is the credible and realistic performances of the characters of the film. Since the young protagonists—the boy and the girl and their friends have been from chosen from small villages it gives emotional credibility and authenticity in the way they have performed. None of these actors are trained, which makes the film look fresh. Roy of University of Edinburgh says, "Love stories always work with fresh faces. Acceptance is high when a lover story is conveyed through fresh faces. In case of Sairat, it is not the fresh faces but also their performances which make them endearing. It is like Alankara rasa. If the person is not attractive no amount of embellishments would make her look attractive. In Sairat, it is the performances of the actors which enhance their attractiveness."
Second, it is the truthful depiction of characters and their interactions and their language reflect an innate genuineness which resonated with the non-Marathi audience. Archie's confidence is rooted in her caste and so is Parshya's shyness. But her confidence is adequate enough for us to not to dub her as arrogant. She can be a true fantasy of rural and semi-urban men. She is not a feminist, she is not a rebel but she is clear-headed and assertive. This makes her accessible to non-Marathi audience. Even the raw emotional moments in the film are quite identifiable. The ways in which Archie and Parshya express their love, meet in fields, and the way Parshya's friends dance when Archie calls Parshya are all relatable. Also the language of the film is quite rooted in its milieu. These scenes are not for gimmick. There is a striking authenticity in which Archie speaks in Telugu and the scene in which she returns to Parshya after a disturbing fight with him shows the depth and the mettle of the two actors.

There is a great deal of contemporariness in which the film's director presents characters and their interactions and their surroundings. The village shown in the film is very accessible and contemporary. It is not a typical village of cow dung and no electricity. One sees characters with mobile phones. It is a 2016 village. This genuine portrayal has worked with the non-Marathi audience. There is realism and subtlety in the reasons for the fights and the director has reined in their tiffs to such an extent that they don't seem plain melodramatic and ugly. This makes the love story pre-and-post interval genuine and real.

The film's director has also kept in mind the coherence in the narrative to a large extent. He has kept in mind to practicality of situations also. They express emotions quite well for non-Marathi audience." Lastly, the music and the background score of the film plays a crucial in making narrative of the film serves both commercial and aesthetic purposes.

Besides, the aforementioned realistic elements in Sairat which have made non-Marathi audience love and appreciate, there are certain commercial elements the directly intelligently weaved into the story. Ashok Rane, a veteran film critic and historian observes, "It is the packaging of the film that has worked for Hindi viewers. Keeping these commercial imperatives in mind, the director has also not sacrificed on entertainment and message quotient. One enters the theatre with anticipation of a good entertainment and comes out numbed. Till the last scene of honour killing, the film hardly makes one realise that it would end in honour killing. Also one is not constantly reminded about the castes of the boy and the girl throughout the film once the director has established it. This shows how the director did not get away from the message of the film even though it so personal to him.

When was the last time did one see a well-made and engaging love story especially a teenage love story in Hindi cinema? A few moments of thinking and one realises that it was long ago. In its quest for depth and complexity in narratives, Hindi cinema, it seems to have lost its own idiom of filmmaking. In the past decade or so, there have been very few Hindi films which have shown presented a fresh treatment of old themes such as love story. Just like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak in the 1980s, Sairat has come at a time when the audience has been deprived of such simplicity of plots and narratives. In fact, Sairat is a grim and stark reminder to Hindi cinema that it has lost simplicity in its plots, which has been an integral part of its long tradition.


It is also reminder of the what ace film director Satyajit Ray, whose ever-so-relevant works serve as a window to a world where 'subtle' and 'restraint' expressions convey deeply-felt observations of human existence, once said, "In order to be universal, one has to be intensely local." मराठी माध्यमांच्या शाळा सध्या एका संक्रमण अवस्थेतून जात आहेत. अशावेळी अशा शाळांमध्ये ‘मराठी’ विषय तेवढ्याच ताकदीने शिकविण्याची गरज असते. मराठा हायस्कूलमधील रूपेश मोरे यांचा प्रयत्नही याच दृष्टिकोनातून सुरू आहे.
मोरे २००५ साली शिक्षक म्हणून रुजू झाले. त्यापूर्वी विनायकराव प्राथमिक शाळेत ते कार्यरत होते. उच्चप्राथमिक वर्गामध्ये सहावी ते आठवी इयत्तेतील मराठी विषय ते शिकवितात. मराठी विषयाला वेगळ्या उंचीवर नेत, तो विषय दैन‌ंदिन व्यवहाराशी जोडतात. लेखक, त्यांच्या साहित्याची अधिकाधिक माहिती विद्यार्थ्यांना देतात. अनेक लेखकांना प्रत्यक्ष आमंत्रित करत विद्यार्थ्यांना त्यांची ओळख करून देणे, संभाषण, वक्तृत्वावर भर देण्यासाठी पाठांतर करून घेणे अशा उपक्रमावर भर देतात. मुळात त्यांच्या शाळेतील बहुतांश विद्यार्थ्यांची बोली भाषा मराठी नाही. त्यामुळे विद्यार्थ्यांना मराठी भाषेत परिपूर्ण घडविण्यासाठी त्यांनी ‘लिहणे-वाचने आणि बोलणे’ या त्रिसूत्रीवर भर दिला.
भाषा विषयाची आवड निर्माण करण्यापासून ते विषय समजण्यापर्यंत विविध टप्प्यावर त्यांचे प्रयत्न यशस्वी ठरले आहेत. लिहिण्या-वाचण्याबरोबरच प्रमाण भाषेतून बोलणे, प्रमाण भाषेतून विद्यार्थ्यांना शिकवले जाते. परिपाठात विविध संवाद कौशल्य, मराठी भाषेतील साहित्यातील मुलांना माहित नसलेल्या प्रसिद्ध लेखक कवितेच्या गोष्टी, कविता, चरित्र सांगितले जाते. त्यातून विद्यार्थ्यांना भाषेची आवड निर्माण होते. घरी मुलांना मराठी वाचनासाठी आग्रह असतो. वृर्तमानपत्रात छापून आलेल्या कविता, धडा वाचल्यानंतर विद्यार्थी त्याबाबत वर्गात आपले विचार मांडतो. त्यातून वाचनाची आवड निर्माण होते.

एखादी कविता शिकविताना मुलांना समजेल, शिकताना आनंद वाटेल अशा साध्या सोप्या भाषेत त्या कवितेशी, कवींशी संबंधित माहिती मोरे सर सांगतात. उदाहरणात सहावीच्या मराठीच्या पाठ्यपुस्तकात ‘आता उजाडेल’ ही मंगेश पाडगावकरांची कविता आहे. सहावीच्या मुलांना मंगेश पाडगावकर तुम्हाला बालवाडीपासून माहिती आहेत, असे सांगतात. मुले चकित होतात. म्हणतात ‘नाही हो सर, आम्हाला तर ते काही आठवत नाही’. मग मुलांना सांगितले जाते. तुम्हाला बालवाडीच्या बाईंनी एक गाणे शिकवले होते ‘सांग सांग भोलानाथ पाऊस पडेल का’ हे गाण मंगेश पाडगावकरांनी लिहिलेले आहे. त्यांची ‘आता उजाडेल’ ही कविता आहे. त्यामुळे या मुलांना सहावीच्या पुस्तकातील कविता व मंगेश पाडगावकर आपले वाटू लागतात आणि त्यांच्या आनंदात ते ही कविताही सहज शिकतात. ग. दि. माडगूळकर, नारायण सुर्वे, बहिणाबाई चौधरी, वामन निंबाळकर यांच्या कविता शिकविताना या पद्धतीचाच वापर केला जातो. कविता ज्या लेकखाची आहे, त्याचे इतर साहित्य, साहित्य क्षेत्रातील त्यांची वाटचाल हे विद्यार्थ्यांसमोर मांडले जाते. त्यासाठी त्यांची इतर पुस्तके वर्गात आणून विद्यार्थ्यांना पाहायला दिली जातात. शिकवलेल्या विषयाचा नियमित सराव यावर भर दिला जातो. त्यासह विद्यार्थ्यांमधील ‘संभाषण कौशल्य’वर विशेष भर देण्यासाठी प्रत्येक स्पर्धेत त्यांच्या विद्यार्थ्यांचा सहभाग ठरलेला असतो. त्यासाठी फावल्या वेळात विद्यार्थ्यांना संभाषण कौशल्याबाबत मार्गदर्शन केले जाते. त्यातून हे विद्यार्थी विविध स्पर्धेत चमकदार कामगिरी करतात.
स्वतः उत्तम सूत्रसंचालन करण्यासाठी ओळखले जाणारे रूपेश मोरे हे विद्यार्थ्यांमध्येही सभाधीटपणा यावा या हेतूने विद्यार्थ्यांनी कार्यक्रमांचे सूत्रसंचालन करावे, यावर भर देतात. सूत्रसंचालनासाठी सुमारे दोनशे कविता, कविता निर्मिती मागची गोष्ट, कवितेचे झालेले गीत, लेखक-कवीच्या गमती, थोर व्यक्तीचे विचार हे संकलन त्यांच्याकडे कायम तयार असते. या सगळ्या संकलनाचा अध्यापनात उपयोग होतो, असे ते मानतात. विद्यार्थ्यांच्या दृष्टिकोनातून उपयुक्त अशा उपक्रमांची आखणी करण्यात नेहमी पुढे असणाऱ्या मोरे सरांना विविध उपक्रमांसाठी मुख्याध्यापक आर. पी. यत्नाळकर, उपमुख्याध्यापिका एस. बी. पाटील, पर्यवेक्षक जे. आर. पुनवटकर इतर सहकाऱ्यांचे मार्गदर्शन व मदत होते, असे ते सांगतात.

डिजिटल भित्तीपत्रिका
मुलांमध्ये लिहण्याची आवड निर्माण व्हावी या हेतूने ‘मराठी राजभाषा दिन’ निमित्ताने मुलांकडून कथा, कविता, निबंध हे त्यांच्या हस्ताक्षरात लिहून घेतले जाते. ते स्कॅन करून डिजिटल बॅनरवर प्रिंट घेऊन ‘मायबोली’ हे भित्तीपत्रक विद्यार्थी प्रकाशित करतात. रूपेश मोरे यांच्या मार्गदर्शनाखाली या भित्तीपत्रकाचे संपादनही विद्यार्थीच करतात. यात लेखन करणाऱ्या सर्व विद्यार्थ्यांचा प्रकाशन समारंभादिवशी सत्कार करण्यात येतो. त्यामुळे विद्यार्थ्यांना प्रोत्साहन मिळतो. मराठीबाबत सर्वांगाने विद्यार्थ्यांना ज्ञान व्हावे, आवड निर्माण व्हावी हाच यातून प्रयत्न असतो. यापुढे ‘कविता व कथा लेखन’ विषयावर कार्यशाळा घेऊन मुलांनी लिहिलेल्या कथा, कवितांचे पुस्तक करायचा त्यांचा मानस आहे.

‘लेखक’ आपल्या भेटीला
शाळेमध्ये दरवर्षी विद्यार्थ्यांच्या भेटीसाठी लेखक, कवी हा उपक्रम राबविला जातो. कविता लेखन कसे करावे, अवांतर वाचन याबाबत विद्यार्थ्यांशी संवाद साधत हे साहित्यिक विद्यार्थ्यांना मार्गदर्शन करतात. या उपक्रमातून विद्यार्थ्यांना प्रेरणा मिळते. लेखक, कवींशी प्रत्यक्ष बोलता येते. त्यामुळे त्यांची भाषेतील गोडी वाढल्याचे समोर आले आहे.

'अरे यार, आज मूव्ही देखते है', 'ओय, एक्झाम जवळ येतेय...आता स्टडी मस्ट आहे' ही वाक्यं ऐकल्यासारखी वाटतायत ना? रोजच्या बोलण्यात ही हिंग्लिश-मिंग्लिश कानांवर पडते. असं असलं, तरी मायबोलीविषयी तरुणाईला तेवढंच प्रेम आहे. आजच्या मराठी राजभाषा दिनानिमित्त, युवा कट्टावर तरुणाईनं यावर भरभरुन आपली मतं मांडली. 'बदलत्या काळात भाषेचं स्वरुप थोडं बदललं असलं, तरी आम्हाला मातृभाषेची फिकीर नाही असं नाहीय. शुद्ध मराठीची काळजी आम्हालाही आहे,' असं तरुणाईचं म्हणणं असल्यानं मराठीचं भवितव्य उज्ज्वलच आहे हे पुन्हा एकदा अधोरेखित झालं.

बोलीभाषा स्वीकारा! भाषेत मुळात शुध्द-अशुध्द असं काहीच नसतं. जर कोणी बोलीभाषेचा वापर करत असेल तर ती अशुध्द आहे हे म्हणणं चुकीचं आहे. भाषा ही अत्यंत प्रवाही असते. अगदी लीळाचरित्र ते ज्ञानेश्वरी असा प्रवास बघितला तर मराठी फारच बदलेली दिसते. आजही आपण त्या काळातील अनेक शब्दांचा अर्थ लावण्यास अपयशी ठरतो. कारण परिवर्तन हा प्रकृतीचा नियम भाषेलाही लागू होतो. आता ग्लोबलायझेशनमुळे इंग्रजी ही जगावर अधिराज्य गाजवत असल्याने साहाजिकच मराठीवर तिचा प्रभाव आहे. आपण व्हॉटसअॅप, फेसबुकच्या या जमान्यात तरुणाईच्या तोंडी काही इंग्रजी भाषा अनवधानाने येते. बऱ्याच वेळा अशा अनेक शब्दांना पर्यायी शब्द मिळत नाहीत. भाषा संवादाचे माध्यम असल्याने त्यातील अनेक सोपे बदल लगेचच समाजमान्य होतात. परंतु असे सोपे बदल स्वीकारताना मूळ व्याकरणाला धक्का लागणार नाही, बोलीभाषेचा आदर करणं हे तितकंच आवश्यक आहे. निशांत ताम्हाणे, मुंबई विद्यापीठ


पाश्चा​त्यिकरण होतंय सध्या तरुणाईची भाषा हिंग्लिश, मिंग्लिश अशा अनेक भाषांची सरमिसळ आहे. परंतु हे भाषेस हानिकारक आहे. ज्याप्रमाणे घरचं पौष्टीक जेवण आपला शारीरिक विकास करतं त्याचप्रमाणे शुद्ध मातृभाषा आपल्या व्यक्तिमत्वाचा विकास करत असते आणि संस्कृती संवर्धनाचंही काम करतं. आपल्या मातृभाषेतून आपण अधिक चांगल्याप्रकारे व्यक्त होऊ शकतो. एकंदरच आपल्या मायबोलीचं पाश्चात्यिकरण झालंय. भाषांमधील जास्तीत-जास्त शब्दांना मराठी भाषेत आणायला हवं. खरंतर आपण प्रयत्न केला तर पूर्ण मराठी भाषेत बोलू शकतो. व्यवहारासाठी जरी इतर भाषा वापरल्या तरी संवादाची भाषा ही मराठीच असायला हवी. यासाठी आजच्या तरुणांनी प्रयत्न करणं गरजेचं आहे. मार्गिका कदम,एस.एन.डी.टी. विद्यापीठ

लाभले आम्हांस भाग्य... आज आपण पाहायला गेलो तर आपली मायबोलीची जागोजागी ठीगळं लावलेल्या लुगड्यासारखी अवस्था झाली आहे. पुणेरी, मराठवाडी, खानदेशी, वैदर्भीय अशा वेगवेगळ्या स्वरूपात आपल्याला मराठी ऐकायला मिळतं. प्रत्येक जागेवर, प्रत्येक शब्दांचं एक वेगळं माधुर्य आहे. एक वेगळीच गोडी आहे. पण अलीकडच्या काळात हिंदी आणि इंग्रजीच्या माऱ्यानं मराठीचं स्वरूप अगदीच पालटून गेलंय. वेगवेगळ्या भाषेतील शब्द मराठीत समाविष्ट झालेत. त्यामुळे आता एक नवी 'हायब्रीड' मराठी आपल्याला पाहायला मिळते. ज्यामुळे मूळ मराठी भाषा बिघडली आहे असं म्हणतात. पण समुद्रासारखी विशाल असलेल्या आपल्या मराठी भाषेत एवढी शक्ती नक्कीच आहे की, त्या सर्वांना समावून घेऊनसुद्धा आपलं मूळ रूप ती टिकवून आहे आणि पुढे देखील ती टिकवून ठेवेल. भाषा म्हणजे काय? तर संवादातील एक प्रभावी माध्यमच. मग काय करायचं शुद्ध बोलून. जर मला 'अस्ताव्यस्त वस्त्र नियंत्रक' म्हणण्यापेक्षा इस्त्री या शब्दाचा अर्थ चांगला कळत असेल. तसंच 'अग्नीपथरत्न" म्हणण्यापेक्षा रेल्वे या सोप्या शब्दात, मला त्याचा अर्थ कळत असेल तर शुद्धतेचाच अट्टाहास कशाला? तसंच मराठी भाषा वळवावी तशी वळते. यामागचं सांगणं इतकंच आहे की, एखादी गोष्ट व्यक्त होण्याकरीता संवाद प्रभावीपणे होणं गरजेचं आहे. मूळ मराठी भाषेबरोबरच वेगवेगळ्या बोलीभाषाही आपण स्वीकारायला हवी. मराठी भाषा समृद्ध आहे आणि ती राहीलच. प्रदीप मोरे,व्हीजेटीआय कॉलेज

गर्व आहे आम्हा मायमराठीचा माझा मराठाचि बोलू कौतुके, परि अमृतातेहि पैजासी जिंके, ऐसी अक्षरे रसिके मेळवीन असं म्हणत संत ज्ञानेश्वरांनी मराठी भाषेविषयीचा अभिमान, मराठीची महती व्यक्त केली आहे हे आपण सगळे जाणून आहोत आणि याचा आपल्याला अभिमानच नाही तर गर्व आहे असं म्हणू शकतो. आजच्या युगात बोलली जाणारी ही भाषा खूप बदलली आहे किंवा बदलत चालली आहे. प्रत्येक संवाद मग तो लहानाताला लहान का असेना आपण मराठीतूनच बोलतो का? असा एक प्रश्न प्रत्येकाने स्वतःलाच विचारला पाहिजे. आजकाल आपण व्हॉटसअॅप, फेसबुक यावर चॅटींग करताना मराठी बोलणं जणू विसरलोच किंवा इंग्रजी बोलणं जास्त सोयीचं वाटतं. आजच्या तरुणाईची मराठी भाषा ऐकताना फार वाईट वाटतं आणि लाजही वाटते. आपण साधं एकही वाक्य शुद्ध मराठीत बोलू शकत नाही. सर्व भाषा शिकणं चांगलं आहे असं आपण म्हणतो. परंतु एकही भाषा आपल्याला धड बोलता येत नाही. भारतातील प्रमुख २२ भाषांपैकी मराठी एक आहे. मराठी मातृभाषा असणाऱ्या लोकसंख्येनुसार मराठी ही जगातील पंधरावी आणि भारतातील चौथी भाषा आहे. मूळ सांगण्यांचा उद्देश हा की, आपण मराठी भाषेचा मान राखून ती पुरेपूर जपण्याचा प्रयत्न केला पाहिजे. मंदिरा कामत,रामनारायण रुईया कॉलेज

हेतू महत्त्वाचा पूर्वीच्या काळात भाषेची विविधता म्हटलं की, नाशिकची भाषा, नगरी भाषा, नागपूरी भाषा, पुणेरी भाषा, कोकणी हे भाषाचे प्रकार ऐकायला मिळायचे. पण अलीकडच्या काळात विद्यार्थ्यांच्या भाषा, कट्ट्यावरची भाषा, मित्रांच्या भाषा, कामावरची भाषा अशा अनेक भाषांचे जणू ट्रेंड आलेत. भाषा म्हणजे अशी गोष्ट जी फक्त मानवाला मिळालेली दैवी देणगी आहे. शतकांपूर्वीची पिढी आणि आजची प्रगत पिढी यात जसा खूप फरक आहे. अगदी तसाच फरक आपल्या भाषेत देखील झालेले दिसतात. जशी व्यक्ती तशा अनेक भाषा. प्रत्येक भाषेतून बोलल्यावर त्यातून निघणारा मतितार्थ हा एकच असतो. त्यामुळे भाषा कोणत्याही असल्या तरी ती भाषा बोलण्याचा हेतू काय आहे हे महत्त्वाचं असतं. प्रियंका वाघुले, बीजीआयटी कॉलेज

भाषाज्ञान गरजेचं आपण तरुण मंडळी मराठीत पूर्ण एक वाक्य तरी बोलू शकतो का? याचा विचार केला पाहिजे. भाषा ही आपलं म्हणणं पोहोचवायला असते. ती जितकी सहज तितका समोरच्याला निरोप पटकन कळतो. आजचा तरुण टायपिंग करण्यात तर पारंगत आहे. सतत मोबाईलला खिळलेला तरुण टायपिंग मास्टरच झालाय. आज काल लोकांना इंग्रजीमध्ये बोलणं हे फार मानाचं वाटतं. हे मात्र मला पटत नाही. दोन भाषा बोलणाऱ्यांना मराठी उत्तम येत असतं. पण मराठीत बोलणं हे कमी दर्जाचं वाटतं. जर आजच्या युगात टिकण्यासाठी आपण इंग्रजी बोलतो, अनेक परकीय भाषा शिकतो. मग ज्या मायमाऊली मराठीने आपल्याला वाचा दिली तिला का विसरत आहोत? पाखराने कितीही उंच झेप घेतली तरी ते स्वत:च्या घरीच परततं. त्यामुळे भाषा ही भावना व्यक्त करणारी असली तरी मातृभाषा ही यायलाच हवी. अनुजा साठे, वझे-केळकर कॉलेज

धन्य ती माझी मायबोली आपल्या मायबोलीत इतर कोणत्याही भाषेची सरमिसळ असली तरी चालेल, ही गोष्ट मला अजिबात पटत नाही. प्रत्येकाने आपल्या बोलण्यात मायबोलीचा ९० टक्के तरी वापर करावा. आपल्या मायबोलीवर इतर भाषांचा पगडा असणं, ही बाब चुकीची आहे. आपण संवाद साधण्यासाठी ज्या भाषेतचा वापर करतो ती भाषाचं आपली ओळख असते. आपली मायबोली हा आपला वारसा असतो. त्याची जपणूक करुन तितक्याच जबाबदारीने पुढच्या पिढीला देणं हे प्रत्येकाचं आद्य कर्तव्य आहे. आज काॅर्पोरेट युगात वावरताना, आपल्या एक-दोन नव्हे तर शेकडो व्यक्तींशी संवाद साधावा लागतो आणि तो देखील त्यांना समजेल अशा भाषेतच. त्यासाठी आपण एखादी भाषा आत्मसात केली आणि ती वारंवार वापरली, तरी ती कोणत्या सीमेपर्यंत स्वत:सोबत ठेवायची हे आपल्यावर अवलंबून आहे. आपल्याकडील मायबोलीच्या शब्दसंपत्तीचा ऱ्हास होतोय. अमृतापेक्षाही गोड समजली जाणारी आपली मराठी भाषा आहे. सर्वात कठीणही आपली मराठीच भाषा आहे. जी प्रत्येकाला जमत नाही आणि वळवावी तशी ती वळवली जाते. आपली आजची तरुणाई म्हणजे उद्याची सुजाण पिढी आहे. त्यामुळे सहाजिकच जर आपण मनात आणलं आणि तितक्यात आत्मीयतेने ते धोरण अवलंबलं तर एक दिवस ही परिस्थिती बदलू शकतो. भाषा ही फक्त संवादाचे माध्यम नसून, आपल्या व्यक्तिमत्वाची छाप पाडण्याचा मार्ग आहे. भाषा म्हणजे आपली ओळख आहे, आपला मान आहे, आपला सन्मान आहे, आपली गरज आहे आणि आपला गर्व आहे. त्यामुळे ती शुद्ध बोलावी आणि इतरांनाही बोलण्यास भाग पाडावी. तरच आपली मराठी भाषा ही कायम राजभाषा म्हणून ओळखली जाईल. प्रतिक्षा मोरे,कीर्ती कॉलेज

माय मरो अन् मावशी जगो आपल्या मराठीची सध्याची अवस्था म्हणजे 'माय मरो अन् मावशी जगो' अशी झाली आहे. आपल्या रोजच्या मराठी भाषेवर इंग्रजी आणि हिंदी भाषेचा प्रभाव आहे. आपण एखादं वाक्य बोलतानाही इंग्रजी शब्दांशिवाय पूर्णच होत नाही. जर आपणच आपली भाषा नीट बोललो नाही तर समोरच्या व्यक्तीला आपलं म्हणणं पटवून देऊचं शकत नाही. भाषा हे संवादाचं माध्यम जरूर आहे. पण आपल्या भाषेतून जर संवाद साधला तर त्याचा गोडवा अधिक जाणवतो. जर आपल्या मातृभाषेबरोबर दुसऱ्या भाषेची सरमिसळ झाली तर समोरच्या व्यक्तीच्या मनात आपल्या मायबोलीच्या प्रती आदरही कमी होतो. आपल्या या मातृभाषेचा गौरव आपणच करत नाही. भाषा ही अनोळखी माणसाना जोडण्याचं आणि समाज प्रबोधनाचं काम सहजरीत्या करत असते, हे आपल्या लक्षात यायला हवं. त्यामुळे केवळ तरुणांनीचं नाही तर प्रत्येक मराठी माणसाने जास्तीत जास्त मायबोलीतूनच सवांद साधायला हवा आणि आपण हे नक्कीचं करू शकतो. कल्पेश ढोलेे, विद्यालंकार इंजिनीअरिंग कॉलेज

असे मराठी अमुची शान मराठी भाषा ही महाराष्ट्राची शान आहे असे म्हणताना कुठे तरी ती हरवत चालली आहे असं भासतं, अनेकवेळा लोक म्हणताना दिसतात. पूर्वी गावा-गावांत मराठी भाषा आणि त्याचबरोबर त्यांच्या बोलीभाषा सुद्धा बोलल्या जातं. पण तेव्हा मराठी भाषा लोप पावत आहे असं क्वचितच ऐकू येत असे. आता बदलत्या काळानुसार फक्त मराठी भाषेमध्येच नव्हे तर इतर ही भाषांमध्ये शब्दांची सरमिसळ जाणवते. पण मला वाटतं की, भाषेची सरमिसळ होणं म्हणजे मराठी भाषा लोप पावत आहे असं नाही. मुंबईची भाषा म्हणजे तरुणाईची भाषा असं समजलं जातं. कॉलेज कट्ट्यांवरून जन्माला आलेल्या या भाषेचं आज सगळीकडे स्वागत होतं. तरुणाईला आकर्षित करून घेण्यासाठी आणि आपले वाचक वाढविण्यासाठी खुद्द वर्तमानपत्रांमध्येेसुद्धा ही तरुणाईची भाषा वापरली जाते. चित्रपटांमध्येसुद्धा हमखास अशा सरमिसळ भाषेचा उपयोग केला जातो. पारंपरिक मराठी भाषा बोलणारे फार कमी आहेत किंवा अनेकांना तर मराठी शब्दच सुचत नाहीत. अशावेळी मग जो शब्द सुचेल तो वापरला जातो. त्याचप्रमाणे मेसेजिंग आणि सोशल साइट्समुळे मराठी भाषा पूर्णपणे बदलली आहे. फक्त तरुणाईने मुख्य मराठी भाषा विसरु नये यासाठी आग्रह धरला पाहिजे, तेव्हाच मायबोली संपूर्णपणे जिवंत राहील. तेजल लिमजे, साठ्ये कॉलेज

वाचाल तर बोलाल आज बोलीभाषा आणि त्यात होणारे बदलांकडे लक्ष केंद्रीत केलं तर असं दिसतं की, प्रत्येकजण आपापल्या सोयीनुसार आपल्या भाषेत बदल करतो. त्या बोलल्या जाणाऱ्या भाषेत त्यांना काहीच वावग वाटत नाही. कारण या मायबोलीचा वापर कसा करावा ही भाषा कशी बोलावी हे या युवापिढीला कळत नाही. याचं कारण म्हणजे त्यांनी आपली मायबोली समजून घेण्याचा कधी प्रयत्नच केला नाही. आपल्यालाही आपल्या मातृभाषेचा अभिमान हा असायलाचं हवा. आजकाल उच्चभ्रू ठिकाणी गेल्यावर आपल्या मातृभाषेत बोलणं युवापिढी सहसा टाळते. पण त्यांना हे कळत नाही की, आपली मराठी भाषा किती संपन्न आहे आणि तिच्यात इतर भाषिक शब्दांची सरमिसळ करुन आपण तिची संपन्नता धुळीस मिळवत आहोत . आताची युवापिढी कधी कॉलेज कॅम्पसमध्ये तर कधी नाक्यावर बसण्यात वेळ घालवते. हेही कमी पडलं तरी त्यांची साथ द्यायला मोबाईल हा आहेचं. वाचन कुठेतरी कमी पडतय असं मला प्रकर्षाने वाटतं. तरूणपिढीने मायबोलीचा आग्रह धरणं फार गरजेचं आहे. कारण तुमच्या बोलण्यावरून तुमचं व्यक्तीमत्व कसं आहे हे ठरतं. युवापिढीने आपलं बोलणं सुधारलं तर येणाऱ्या प्रत्येक परिस्थितीला ही युवापिढी सामोरी जाऊ शकेल. अभिषेक तेली, एमडी कॉलेज

सुजाणतेचं द्योतक कोणत्याही भाषेचा विकास हा तिच्या इतर भाषांमधील शब्द सामावून घेण्याच्या औदार्यावर अवलंबून असतो. मराठी भाषेच्या उगमापाशी जशी संस्कृत भाषा ठामपणे उभी होती. तशाच अनेक भाषा मराठीच्या शब्दसंपदेत भर टाकत गेल्या. तेव्हा इतर भाषांतील शब्दांच्या सरमिसळीमुळे मराठी भाषेची शुद्धता लोप पावत चालली आहे, या विचाराशी मी सहमत नाही. भाषेची शुद्धता ही तिच्या व्याकरणावर आणि उच्चार संपन्नतेवर अवलंबून असते. आजही बहुतेकजण लिखित आणि बोलीभाषेतील नियम आणि त्याचे सौंदर्य यांची गल्लत करताना दिसतात. तेव्हा एखादी भाषा केवळ आपली मायबोली आहे म्हणून तिचे अंतरंग समजून न घेता तिचा वापर करणं, हे जोखमीचं ठरू शकतं. म्हणूनच आपली मातृभाषासुद्धा इतर भाषांप्रमाणे व्याकरणातून शिकायला हवी आणि उच्चारांचं भान असायला हवं. यामुळेच भाषेच्या बदलत्या स्वरूपाला एकसूत्रतेने स्वीकारणं शक्य होईल. या संपूर्ण प्रक्रियेमध्ये भाषेच्या शुद्धतेविषयी स्वत: सजग असणं आणि त्या भाषेच्या सौंदर्यासह तिला पुढील पिढ्यांकडे संक्रमित करणं ही जबाबदारी आजच्या तरूणांनी पार पाडल्यास भाषा नक्कीच चिरंजीव राहील. भाषेच्या उपयोगामध्ये होणारे बदल सकारात्मकतेने स्वीकारून तिला तिचं व्यक्तिमत्व घडवण्याचं स्वातंत्र्य बहाल करणं, हेच आपल्या सुजाणतेचं द्योतक असेल. कौस्तुभ बांबरकर, शासकीय विधी महाविद्यालय

मायबोलीचं सामर्थ्य अपार भाषा ही जीवनाशी संलग्न असणारी एक संस्थाच आहे असं आपण म्हणू शकतो. पूर्वीपासून मराठी भाषेत झालेले बदल तिने स्वीकारलेत. मराठी भाषाही परिवर्तनशील आहे, यात शंकाच नाही. आज संपूर्ण जगावर इंग्रजीचा प्रभाव आहे. तसंच तो आपल्यावरही आहे. त्यामुळे साहजिकच तरुणांच्या मनात मराठी भाषेविषयी न्यूनगंड वाढतोय. मराठीला ज्ञानभाषा म्हणून विकसित करणं हा त्यावर मात करण्याचा उपाय आहे. मराठी भाषेच्या वापरातूनही तितक्याच सक्षमतेने ज्ञानाची देवाणघेवाण करता येऊ शकते हे आजच्या विद्यार्थ्यांना पटवून द्यायला हवं. जागतिकीकरणामुळे इंग्रजी भाषेचा वापर वाढला आहे हे खरं. पण याच जागतिकीकरणामुळे आज मराठी जगाच्या कानाकोपऱ्यात जाऊन पोहोचते आहे हे आपल्याला मान्य करावंच लागेल. मराठी भाषेतील साहित्य इतर परदेशी भाषांमध्ये भाषांतरीत व्हावं यासाठी प्रयत्न होत आहेत. आजची तरुणाई मराठी भाषेबाबत उदासीन आहे. त्यांची भाषा अशुद्ध होत चालली आहे, अशी ओरड नेहमीच ऐकायला मिळते. पण माझ्या मते, भाषा शुद्ध-अशुद्ध या वादात पडण्यापेक्षा ती अधिकाधिक वापरली जावी यासाठी पावलं टाकायला हवीत. तरुणांनी कटाक्षाने अधिकाधिक मराठी भाषेचा वापर करणं गरजेचं आहे. एकदा त्यांना भाषेची गोडी लागली की, त्यांना व्याकरण, शुद्धतेकडे सहज वळवता येऊ शकतं,असं मला वाटतं. अस्मिता वांद्रे, मुंबई विद्यापीठ

इतर भाषांचा अट्टाहास कशाला? भाषा हे संवादाचं एक माध्यम आहे. त्यामुळे जेव्हा आपण एखाद्याशी आपल्या मातृभाषेत संवाद साधत असतो, तेव्हा इतर भाषेतील शब्द जो सर्वांच्या जास्त परिचयाचा असतो तो हमखास वापरतो. तसंच संवाद हा सहज, सोपा होण्यासाठी अशा शब्दांची सरमिसळ झाली तर काहीच हरकत नाही. पण त्याचं अतिक्रमण होता कामा नये. आपल्या भारतातच विविध भाषा बोलल्या जातात. प्रत्येकाला त्या येतातच असं नाही. तसंच अनेक परदेशी बांधवसुद्धा आपल्याकडे येत असतात. त्यामुळे इंग्रजी भाषा ही अशा व्यक्तींशी संवाद साधण्यासाठी उपयुक्त ठरते. पण ते एवढ्यापुरतच मर्यादीत ठेवणं गरजेचं आहे. कारण आजकल या इंग्रजीचा वापर गरजेपेक्षा जास्तच वाढला आहे. कॉलेज कट्टाच काय पण अगदी घरोघरी देखील इंग्रजीत संवाद साधणारे मोठ्या प्रमाणात आहेत. कॉलेजमध्ये शिकताना तर आपण इंग्रजीचा जास्त वापर करतोच ना मग निदान बाहेर पडल्यावर तरी आपण आपल्या मातृभाषेत बोलायला काय हरकत आहे? त्यामुळे आपल्या मायबोलीसाठी जर तरुणांनीच शुद्ध भाषेचा आग्रह धरायला पाहिजे -जागृती यादव, मुंबई विद्यापीठ

मायबोलीसाठी वृद्धिंगत व्हावी कवी कुसुमाग्रज म्हणजेच विष्णू वामन शिरवाडकर यांचा जन्मदिन हा आपण मराठी राजभाषा दिन म्हणून साजरा करतो. शाळा, कॉलेज, सरकारी कार्यालयांमध्ये निरनिराळे सांस्कृतिक आणि सामाजिक कार्यक्रम राबवले जातात. अतिशय उत्तम प्रकारे मराठी भाषा दिवस साजरा होतो. पण हे सगळं फक्त एकाच दिवशी होतं याची मात्र मला मनापासून खंत वाटते. भाषेमुळे विचारांची देवाणघेवाण होते. कोणत्याही भावना व्यक्त करण्यासाठी भाषेचाच आधार घ्यावा लागतो. पण प्रामुख्याने आपल्या मराठी आणि महाराष्ट्राच्या सध्याच्या परिस्थितीची काळजी वाटते. सध्याच्या जगात फक्त मराठी भाषेचाच वापर व्हावा असं नाही. पण जिथं शक्य असेल तिथं आवर्जून आपली मायबोली वापरावी ही साधी अपेक्षा आहे. एकविसाव्या शतकात इंग्रजी आणि इतर भाषा अनिवार्य आहे. यात शंकाच नाही. पण त्याबरोबरच आपण मराठीचा प्रसार प्रचार आपल्या घरी, मित्र-मैत्रिणींबरोबर नक्की करावाच असा मला वाटतं. भाषा वृद्धिंगत करणं खूप आवश्यक आहे असं मला वाटतं. आदेश पुरंदरे , पोदार कॉलेज

भाषाअभ्यास - एक छंद प्रत्येक प्रांतात, प्रदेशात अनेक भटकंतीची स्थळ आहेत. त्या ठिकणांचे काही खास पदार्थ असतात, आगळीवेगळी वेशभूषा असते. पण प्रत्येक ठिकाणचे एक विशेष आकर्षण म्हणजे तिथली भाषा. भाषा म्हणजे एखाद्या प्रांताचा दागिनाच जणू! भाषा बोलता आली म्हणजे आपण ती शिकलो असं नव्हे, तर आपल्याला ती लिहिता-वाचतासुद्धा आली पाहिजे. एखादी नवीन भाषा शिकणं म्हणजे बालवाडीत जाण्यासारखं असतं.प्रथम सुरुवात होते ती लिपीने मग स्वर, व्यंजन, अंक आणि व्याकरण. आपली मराठी भाषा बोलायला सोपी असली तरी अनेकांना गोंधळून टाकणारी आहे. प्रत्येक भाषेची आपली अशी एक खासियत असते. शेरो-शायरी, इतिहास सांगायचा झाला तर उर्दूचा वापर केला जातो. मंत्र, श्लोक, अध्यात्म म्हंटल की संस्कृतची आठवण होते. तर युसए इंग्लिश अरे-तुरे या साठी जाणलं जातं. एकूणच जगातील वेगवेगळ्या भाषांबद्दल जाणून घेणं आणि एखाद्या भाषेवर प्रभुत्व गाजवणं हा एक चांगला आणि ज्ञानात भर घालणारा छंद ठरू शकतो. -संजना जतीन पाटील, टी.आय.एस.एस.



भाषेची घडण... !!! आजच्या धावत्या जगात बहुदा हे ओळखणं कठीणच की समोरच्याची मातृभाषा नक्की कोणती असावी. आपण आजकल सगळेच इतके व्हर्सेटाईल झालो आहोत की कामाच्या स्वरूपानुसार भाषा चटकन बदलायला शिकलो आहोत. आपल्या घरीच फक्त मातृभाषेच थोडं वर्चस्व असत. आपण परिस्थितीनुसार स्वतःची भाषा बदलतो. प्रत्येक काळ हा नवीन भाषेच्या संकाराला जन्म देत जात आहे हे म्हणण वावग नाही ठरणार. भाषेत सरमिसळ होत आहे हे मान्य आहे. तेच घरी असताना असताना आपण मायबोलीची मूळ तर नक्कीच घट्ट करू शकतो. कारण आपल्या खऱ्या भावना आपल्या मातृभाषेतूनच व्यक्त होतात. अगदी उदाहरण घायचं झालं तर रस्त्याने चालताना जर पायाला ठेच लागली तर मी "आई गं " च म्हणणार का तर ती माझी मातृभाषा आहे. कठीण परिस्थितीत, घाबरलेले असताना अगदी आनंद व्यक्त करताना आपल्याला आपली मातृभाषाच आठवते. मायबोलीचा अभिमान असण अर्थातच गरजेचं आहे. तिच तर आपली खरी ओळख आणि संस्कृतीच दर्शन घडवते. पोर्णिमा अनिल बुद्धिवंत, रचना संसद अकॅडेमी ऑफ आर्किटेक्चर

प्रत्येक गोष्टीत बदल हा आवश्यक असतोच. सध्या आपण बोलत असलेली मराठी भाषाही त्याला अपवाद नाही. वेगवेगळ्या संतांच्या साहित्याचा विचार केला तर त्यातही दिसून येईल की, बदलणाऱ्या मराठी भाषेचा स्वीकार त्यांनी केलाच. मला असं वाटतं की, होणाऱ्या चांगल्या बदलांना आपण विरोध का दर्शवावा? कारण हे बदल झाले नाहीत तर त्यातील तोच-तोच पणा त्यातील नाशाचे कारण ठरेल. माझ्यामते भाषा ही गोष्ट अचानक नष्ट होण्यासारखी नाही. त्यात काही बदल होत आहेत. काही दुसऱ्या भाषेतील शब्द प्रवेश करत आहेत. हे मान्य पण याचा अर्थ असा नाही की, त्यामुळे आपली मराठी, आपली मायबोली संपूर्णच नष्ट होईल. खुप वर्षांपुर्वी संतांच्या कालखंडात प्रचलित असलेली मराठी भाषा आत्ताच्या काळात वापरात आणणं शक्य नाही. खरंतर व्यवहार्य नाही. हे सुद्धा आपण मान्य करायला हवे. आत्ताच्या जमान्यात जगताना जगासोबत आपल्यालाही चालावे लागणार आणि असे केले नाही तर आपली प्रगती होण्याऐवजी आपण मागेच राहु. कॉम्युटर, कॉलेज, वेबसाईट, चॅनेल, मोबाईल, चार्जर, ट्रेन, इ. व असे अनेक शब्द आपल्या तोंडून इतक्या सहज व सर्रास निघतात कि ते मराठी नसल्याचे आपल्या लक्षातही येत नाही. अशा नेहमीच्या वापरातील शब्दांना आपण जवळ केले आहेच की..! तरूणांना मराठी भाषा बिघडवण्यास जबाबदार धरले जाते.मात्र तरूणांचेच इतके गट 'मराठी भाषा संवर्धनासाठी' काम करत आहेत. मराठी भाषा बिघडवल्याचे आणि प्रदुषीत केल्याचे जे आरोप त्यांच्यावर केले जातात ते मला अजिबात मान्य नाहित. तरूणांनी मराठी भाषा बोलण्याचे वापरण्याचे किंवा नाकारण्याचे अविर्भाव अशा आरोपांमध्ये दिसुन येतात.इंग्रजी भाषेत शिक्षण घेताना, विविध भाषीक मित्रांमध्ये मिरवताना, परदेशात वास्तव्य करताना ते सतत प्रमाण मराठी भाषा वापरू शकत नाहीत मात्र बोलीभाषेतील मराठी त्यांच्या बोलण्यात सतत असते. एवढे नक्की. यामुळे सतत बदलत जाणाऱ्या मराठी भाषेचा शेवट कधीच होणार नाही. आणि ती प्रदूषितही होणार नाही. याची नक्कीच शाश्वती वाटते. तृप्ती खानिवडेकर, विवा कॉलेज, विरार.

मराठीला लागलेली इंग्रजीची कीड हल्ली शुद्ध मराठी बोलणारे लोक फारच कमी दिसतात आणि जी काही मोजकी लोक मराठी बोलताना दिसतात ती तडकेदार मराठी असते. दर दहा कोसांवर भाषा बदलते हे लहानपणापासून ऐकत आलोत. पण त्या वाक्याचा खरा प्रत्यय आला तो कॉलेजमध्ये प्रवेश केल्यावर अगदी पहिल्या दिवसापासूनच येतो. सुरवात झाली ती महाविद्यालचं कॉलेज होऊनच. इंग्रज गेले पण भेट म्हणून भाषा मात्र भारतातचं ठेऊन गेले हे वाक्य खऱ्या अर्थाने पटलं. भाषा हे जरी फक्त संभाषणाचं माध्यम असलं तरी ते संभाषण होण्यासाठी वापरली जाणारी भाषा किमान एकाच असावी. किमान बोलल्या जाणाऱ्या एका वाक्यातही एकाच भाषेचा वापर करावा असं माझ मत आहे. कारण भाषेतील अनेक भाषांच्या एकत्रित वापरने भाषेतील गोडवा विशेषतः मराठी भाषेतील गोडवा कमी होतो अस मला वाटत. पाश्चिमात्य लोकांच्या भाषेसोबातच आपण त्यांची संस्कृतीही कॉपी करत आहोत. आजकाल काळानुरूप बदलण मलाही पटतंय न्हवे तर ते गरजेचे आहेच. परंतु त्यामुळे मातृभाषेकडे आपले दुर्लक्ष तर होत नाही ना याबद्दल आपण स्वतः जागृक असण आवश्यक आहे. आवश्यक ठिकाणी इतर भाषांचा प्रयोग करण ठीक आहे पण आपल्या माणसांशी जवळीक साधण्याचा आणि आपुलकीने वागण्यासाठीचा मराठी हा एकमेव मार्ग आहे. आता अगदीच शुद्ध मराठी बोलण हे आपल्या सगळ्यांच्याच कळण्या पलीकडचे आहे. पण भाषेकडे फक्त एक संभाषणाचे साधन म्हणून न बघता त्यातील गोडवा जाणून घेण्याचा प्रयत्न केला तर भाषेची होणारी सरमिसळ आपोआपचं कमी होईल. -कोमल डांगे, आचार्य मराठे कॉलेज

तरूणाईला कट्ट्यावरच्या भाषेचं अप्रूप मराठी भाषा ही समृद्ध आणि भक्कम परंपरा असलेली भाषा आहे आणि या परंपरेला विविधतेची जोड आहे. म्हणूनच संत साहित्यातील अभंगाची भाषा, ओव्यांची भाषा ही वेगळी आहे. विस्तीर्ण पसरलेल्या महाराष्ट्रात दर बारा कोसावर भाषा बदलते. कोकण, खानदेश,विदर्भ,मराठवाडा ह्या भागातील भाषेचा स्त्रोत हा वेगळा आहे आणि त्या त्या विभागानुसार ती जपलीही जाते.म्हणूनच एकाच विभागातील दोन लोक एकत्र आल्यावर ते बोलण्यात आपल्या प्रादेशिक भाषेचा वापर करतात यात काहीच गैर नाही. परंतु अलीकडे तरुणांमध्ये इंग्रजी भाषेचे आकर्षण वाढू लागले आहे. कॉर्पोरेट क्षेत्रात आणि कॉलेज कट्यावर मराठी बोलताना इंग्रजी शब्दांचा अतिरेक वाढत आहे आणि हे मात्र खटकणारी बाब आहे. अर्थात मराठी बोलत असताना इतर भाषेतील एकही शब्द वापरू नयेत किंवा सकतीने टाळावा अस काही मला वाटत नाही.इतर भाषेतील शब्द वापरल्यामुळे मराठी भाषा दुबळी होते हा आक्षेप मला मान्य नाही.उलट इतर भाषेतील काही शब्द मराठीत आल्यामुळे ती अधिक समृद्ध झाली आहे. ज्ञानेश्वर महाराजांच्या ज्ञानेश्वरीत ५६ भाषांचा वापर केला आहे. त्यामुळे इतर भाषेतील शब्दांचा मराठीत वापर करणे गैर नाही. परंतु यामुळे मूळ मराठी भाषेवर परिणाम होणार नाही याची काळजी घेणं गरजेचं आहे. मराठी भाषेच्या जपणूकीसाठी तरूणांनी पुढाकार घेण्याची गरज आहे. मराठी माझी मायबोली आहे आणि मला त्याचा अभिमान आहे हे प्रत्येकाच्या मनात जेव्हा निर्माण होइल तेव्हाच खऱ्या अर्थाने मराठीला राज्यभाषेचा मान मिळेल. ज्ञानेश्वरी सोन्नर, शासकीय विधी महाविद्यालय

शुद्ध मराठी भाषेचा आग्रह आजकाल बोलली जाणारी मराठी भाषा हीच नक्की मराठी भाषा आहे का? तर त्याचं उत्तर नाही असंच आहे. मूळात मराठी भाषा हा एक गूढ विषय आहे. ज्याच्या खोलात गेल्यावरच कळणार की नक्की मराठी भाषा काय आहे. पण आताच्या तरुणपिढीकडे बघता मराठी भाषा म्हणजे ती जी आपण रोजच्या जीवनात बोलतो मग त्यात अर्ध्याहून अधिक शब्द तर इंग्रजी आणि हिंदीचं असतात. आपली मायबोली समजणाऱ्या या मराठी भाषेवर इंग्रजीचा खूप मोठा पगडा असल्याचं दिसून येतं. भाषा हे केवळ संवादाचं माध्यम न राहता ते एकमेकांचे विचार जोपासण्याचे साधन आहे. त्यामुळे इतर भाषांची सरमिसळ केलेली कोणालाही चालणार नाही. आपल्या मायबोलीसाठी तरुणाइने शुद्ध भाषेचा आग्रह धरला तर नक्कीच आतची जी परिस्थिती मराठी भाषेची आहे ती बदलू शकेल. म्हणजे प्रत्येक तरुणाने मनाशी पक्का निर्धार केला कि नाही मला जे बोलायचं आहे ते मी मराठीतच बोलणार मग समोरची व्यक्ती कोणत्या पण भाषेत बोलत असो मी मात्र मराठीतच बोलणार. पण हा निर्धार आम्ही करणार कधी ? न परिस्थिती बदलणार कधी? तरुणांना इंग्रजी भाषेची क्रेझ आहे म्हणजे आमचा असा समज असतो की, इंग्रजी भाषा आली की सर्वकाही येतं. पण असा विचार करण्याच्या नादात ना धड मराठी बोलता येत ना इंग्रजी. पण आम्हा तरुणांचा असाही समज आहे की त्या व्यक्तीला इंग्रजी बोलता येतंय ना मग मला का नाही ? हा न्यूनगंड प्रत्येकाच्या मनात असल्याने आताची तरुणपिढी इंग्रजीच्या प्रभावाखाली असल्याचं दिसून येत. प्रत्येकाच्या मनातला हा न्यूनगंड जेव्हा कमी होईल तेव्हा नक्कीच मराठी भाषेची स्थिती सुधारेल. -रसिका म्हात्रे ,कर्मवीर भाऊराव पाटील कॉलेज

मायबोलीचं आम्हाला प्रिय काळ बदला की त्यात सर्वदॄष्टीने परिवर्तन आलंच. महत्वाचा मुद्दा येतो तो म्हणजे भाषेचा. भाषा केवळ संवादाचं माध्यम आहेच. पण ती आपण कशा तऱ्हेने बोलतो हे पाहिलं जातं. मराठी आपली राजभाषा आहे आणि आपण तिचा योग्य प्रकारे वापर करणं हे आपलं कर्तव्य आहे. आज आपण पाहिलं तर सर्वत्र सरमिसळ भाषा बोलली जाते. इंग्रजी भाषेचं तर आपल्या मायबोलीवर किती आक्रमण आहे ते तर आपण पाहतच आहोत .कॉलेज कॅम्पस,मुलाखतीत इ. कामात फक्त इंग्रजी आणि सरमिसळ भाषा असतात अर्थातच ज्यांना मराठी भाषा जमत नाही ती वेगळी बाब आहे पण आपण त्यांना आपली मायबोली शिकवण्याचा नक्कीच प्रयत्न केला पाहिजे.असंच जर चालत गेलं तर तरूण पिढीचा कोणत्याच भाषेवर लगाम राहणार नाही. मुलाखती इंग्रजी भाषेत न घेता मराठी भाषेत घ्यायला पाहिजे. ज्या तरूणांना इंग्रजी भाषा जमत नसेल त्यांना नाकरलं जातं. इथं आपल्या मायबोलीचा अपमान होतो असं नाही वाटत काॽ मराठी तरूण पिढीने जर मायबोलीसाठी ठाम निश्चिय केला तर परिस्थिती बद्लायला जास्त वेळ लागणार नाहीच. पण आपल्या सरकारनेसुद्धा यात दक्षता घेतली पाहिजे. म्हणजेच सर्व कामकाज आपल्या राजभाषेत राबवले पाहिजेत तर सगळे प्रश्न सुटतील आणि आपल्याला मराठी माणूस आणि मराठी भाषा सर्वत्र पाहायला जास्त वेळ लागणार नाही. _ पुजा मुंढे, अस्मिता कॉलेज ऑफ लॉ

मायबोली प्रती अनंत आदर मराठमोळा फेटा घालून फोटो काढून सगळ्यांना आपला दिमाख दाखवता येतो. पण जेव्हा प्रश्न भाषेचा येतो तेव्हा मराठमोळेपण कमी होतो. मराठीचा अस्पष्ट वापर वाढत चालला आहे. मराठी बोलताना कधी कधी एखादा इंग्रजी शब्द तोंडून बाहेर पडला तर काहीच हरकत नाही असं मला वाटतं. पण बोलण्याच्या ओघात जर मराठी वरून दुसऱ्याच भाषेत उडी मारली जात असेल तर ते मला मुळीच मान्य नाही. कारण तो जणू मराठीचा अपमानच आहे. प्रत्येक गोष्टीने काळाप्रमाणे बदल करणं गरजेचं आहे. तसंच मराठीत ही काही किरकोळ बदल मान्य आहेत. पण तिचे रंग बदलून टाकणं अजिबात योग्य नाही. भाषा ही दुसऱ्यांच्या विचारांना मान देऊन आपलं मत दुसऱ्यासमोर उभं करण्याचं साधन आहे आणि तिला ही तिचा मान देणं गरजेचं आहे. त्यामुळे ही भाषांची ढवळाढवळ शक्यतो टाळावी असं मला वाटतं. -तन्वी कारेकर, रूईया कॉलेज

घरापासुन सुरुवात...... भाषा हे संवादाचं माध्यम आहे पण भाषा मनातील भावना व्यक्त करण्याचं सुद्धा माध्यम आहे. बोललो नाही तर व्यक्त कसे होणार आणि व्यक्त नाही झालो तर भावना प्रकट कशा होणार हा सुद्धा प्रश्न आहेच ? जसा काळ बदलत गेला तशी भाषा. प्रत्येक बोलीभाषेचा अर्थ एकच आहे. पण बोलण्याच्या पद्धती वेगवेगळ्या आहेत. काळानुसार मराठी बोलण्याची पद्धत बदलत गेली पुणेकरांची वेगळी आणि मुंबईकरांची वेगळी तर नागपूर, मराठवाड्याची ही वेगळी असं असूनही मराठी बोलणारे कमी आहेत. मराठी असूनही न बोलणारे ही आहेतचं. लहान पणापासून घरात कुणीही मराठी बोलायला शिकवल नाही. त्यामुळे पुढे कॉलेज आणि ऑफिसमध्येही भाषा बदलत गेली. जर लहानपणा पासूनचं मातृभाषा बोलण्याचे आणि लिहिण्याचे धडे दिले तर मराठी शुद्ध होईल आणि मराठी भाषेत कोणत्याही दुसर्‍या भाषेची सरमिसळ होणार नाही. आता घरातून मराठी शिकणारी ही पिढी पुढे मराठी कॉलेज आणि ऑफिसमध्ये शद्ध मराठी बोलण्याचा प्रयत्न करेल आणि मातृभाषेविषयी प्रेम, आपुलकी, आदर वाढेल. दिपाली बुद्धिवंत, एच.आर.कॉलेज
