मित्रो आज अग्नि प्रज्ज्वलन के बहुत सरल तरीके ईजाद हो चुके हैं , जब से सेफ्टी माचिस का अविष्कार हुआ है इंसान को अग्नि की सुरक्षा की चिंता ही नही है ,, किंतु क्या कभी आप ने सोचा है जब माचिस नही थी तो अग्नि किस तरह जलेगी ,, विशेषकर माचिस के संग्रहकर्ताओं के ध्यान में ये होना चाहिए ,,  ये अग्नि प्रज्जलन का सामान आप के सामने पेश कर रहा हू  , दरसल इसके  चार अवयव होते थे , सेमल की रुई , चकमक पत्थर , ओर लोहे का टुकड़ा ,, चकमक पत्थर को लोहे के टुकड़े के साथ घर्षण किया जाता था , उससे निकली चिंगारी सेमल की रुई को जला देती थी उससे फिर घास - फूस को जला दिया जाता था उस अग्नि से गोबर के कंडे जला लिए जाते और  उस अग्नि को चूल्हे में राख के अंदर सुरक्षित रखा जाता था , यह 24 घण्टे प्रज्ज्वलित रहती थी , केवल तब ही इसको बुझाया जाता था जब उस घर के किसी सदस्य की मृत्य हो जाती थी उस घर मे 13 दिन चूल्हा नही जलता था शुद्धि के बाद पड़ोसी के यहां से अग्नि लेकर फिर से प्रज्जलित कर दिया जाता था ,, इस तरह से  यह माचिस आदि मानव से वर्तमान मानव तक कि सेवा करती थी.
