WHAT IS THALASSAEMIA?

halassaemia major is an inherited disorder where the body does not produce hemoglobin causing progressive anaemia. If both parents are thalassaemia minors, there are chances that their child would be a thalassaemia major
The patient needs regular blood transfusions and removal of excess iron from the body
