Food intolerance doesn’t let 25-year-old lead normal life

Amother of one, 25-year-old Charlotte Jefferson fears that eating one piece of fruit or a spicy meal could kill her. She has been rushed to hospital multiple times after taking ill post eating. She coughs up blood if she eats a pear or a tomato and her throat swells so much that she cannot breathe if she eats spices. Now her doctors have diagnosed salicylate sensitivity, which means she suffers itching, delirium and even coughs up blood if she eats certain foods like cucumber, broccoli, yoghurt, jam, fruit drinks and fizzy drinks. Shellfish, canned and smoked meats, pie fillings, vegetable oil, ketchup, herbs, spices, biscuits, sweets, custard. All fruits except bananas are also extremely dangerous for the young woman.
The UK resident has said, “I’m suffering depression because I cannot lead a normal life.”
