Equilibrium in Life
Rajyogi Brahmakumar Nikunj ji
How does one define the term ‘personality’? Is it something outer or something inner? Our emotions and personality go hand in hand. Where do emotions start and end? The answer lies in understanding who you are. First, we create thoughts in our mind. These further create our feelings, our attitude, our language, our actions and our lifestyle.
Today, everybody is talking about transforming their lifestyles through personality development. If I have a very stressful life, how do I change it? I can change my job, my house, or take up a new hobby. However, doing all of these things is like pruning the leaves of a tree. Will my problem get solved with these changes? No.
If we want to truly change our lives, then we have to look within. The biggest hurdle that one faces here is imbalance. Our mind tells us one thing, our intellect another, our heart something else and our body something else again. How do we create harmony between all these factors? We need to go back to who you are. We tend to give ourselves a very physical identity. Do we ever think about our metaphysical identity? The understanding that you are a being of light and energy and that you have three faculties—mind, intellect and tendencies. Very few of us would be even aware of these things.
Our situation today is like the queen who lost her necklace and was worriedly looking for it everywhere. Someone spotted the necklace on her neck and told her that the thing that you are looking for is with you only.
Similarly, we too have lost our peace of mind, happiness, and courage, internally, but instead of looking for them inside, we are looking for them outside. Hence to gain them again, let go of the ‘externals’ and connect to your super-conscious mind. You have to let go first though, to touch your super-conscious mind, which will in turn bring you peace and happiness in abundance.
