5 interesting Karva Chauth games
Other than the routine
fasting and decking up, women in the city try to make Karva Chauth a
little more fun. Gone are the days when Karva Chauth functions
restricted the involvement of men. These days, men happily participate
in the dos and add spark to the otherwise only-women fare. While they
fast for the
welfare of their spouse, these fun games keep them from thinking about
food.
YOU KNOW BEST QUIZ
This is the typical knowing-your-spouse game
and a huge hit at Karva Chauth parties. `You know best' is a couple quiz
contest where both the partners are asked a certain number of personal
questions. The couple that gives the maxi
mum correct answers wins and is declared as the most compatible.
WHAT'S THE DP? OR WHO'S THE FRIEND?
Social networking sites and
apps are such an integral part of our lives; hence the introduction of a
game that spells its very presence in our lives. This year, two new
social network-inspired games have been added, namely `What's the DP?'
and `Who's the friend?' What's the DP: The woman will be shown four
different pictures of her husband, one of them will be his latest
display picture. The woman has to guess the correct one.Who's the
friend: This game is slightly risky, but a lot of women are opting to
play it. The wife will be shown four pictures of random people. She has
to recognise who among them is her husband's friend on a popular social
networking site.
SHRINGAAR `Solah-shringaar' as they call it, is the ideal way for a
married woman to dress. It includes different elements that symbolise
marriage. In this game, a shringaar thali with all these 16 (or less)
elements like bindi, bangles, mangalsutra, anklets, etc. are
pre-arranged and handed over to the husbands. They, then have to doll-up
their wives with all these elements. The couple who completes first
wins.
SAATH PHERA
This, again, is a couple game wherein couples will
have to perform a mock wedding ritual. They will follow everything from
putting garlands around each other's neck, smearing the forehead with
vermillion, wearing the mangalsutra as well as going around the holy
fire (replaced with a candle). The couple who completes this entire act
the quickest will be declared as the winner. The best part is that every
game tries to strengthen the matrimonial bond between couples, which
makes these games more exciting to play.
THE `RING' GAME
It can either be played with our without the
spouse.Version 1 With the spouse: All the women will be blind-folded;
one by one they would touch the hands of all the males and recognise
their spouse by touching the ring or the hand.Version 2 Without the
spouse: First, all the wedding rings worn by their respective husbands
are gathered, then tossed and placed out in a tray. Blindfolded women
will have to touch the ring and recognise the correct one. This game
turns out to be quite interesting, with the husbands along, as the
confusion adds to the fun.
