Step into the world of silk

Sarees plucked out of a master weaver’s imagination, out of the looms that have been working wefts and warps for centuries, are as dear as designer ones. So, if you are a connoisseur of sarees and feel that a wardrobe is incomplete without a traditional saree and rare handwoven apparel, then Weaves of India is the perfect place to shop. The exposition has a huge collection of hand woven dress materials, which are a perfect blend of urbane
and ethnic karigari. Choose between Bandhej, block and Sanganeri prints from Rajasthan and Bandhinis from Gujarat as well as Khadi silk, Tussar silk, etc — all under one roof.
One can also find a range of hand-woven sarees and dress materials — Coimbatore cottons and Kanjeewaram silk from Tamil Nadu; Mysore silk, crepe and Kasauti work, Ilakal saree work, georgette and Bangalore silk from Karnataka; and Kalamkari, Pochampally,
Mangalgiri dress materials,
Upada,

Gadwal, Dharmawaram and pure silk Zari sarees from Andhra Pradesh. Shanti Niketan, Kantha, Neemzari, Dhakai Jamdani, Baluchari and printed silk from West Bengal are also available. The exhibition also showcases Bhagalpur silk dress materials, block handprint, Khadi silk and cotton dress materials from Bihar and hosts a variety of Kosa silk sarees, Ghicha silk sarees, mulbery raw silk and block printed silk sarees from Chhattisgarh.
