THE RASTOGIS' HOUSE IS IN A MAZE OF PURPLE. TRUE TO THEIR PERSONALITY AND STYLE, THEY HAVE BEAUTIFUL BALANCED ALL THE ELEMENTS

THE RASTOGIS' HOUSE IS IN A MAZE OF PURPLE. TRUE TO THEIR PERSONALITY AND STYLE, THEY HAVE BEAUTIFUL BALANCED ALL THE ELEMENTS

Nestled in a quiet lane in Lokhandwala, the Rastogis' bungalow Shree Ganesh owes its vibrancy to the beautiful use of purple all over — be it the velvette and beaded cushion, the American car
pet, and even the walls! "I used purple because it represents imagination and creativity," says Mukta Rastogi, the lady of the house, who does theta healing, hypnotherapy and chakra healing sessions in her house.

THE BAR: This space has a unique identity of its own. It has a carved symmetrical design with silver leafing which begins midway through the bar cabinet going right up to the frosted glass behind it. Interestingly, the frosted glass displays a reflection of the stained glass painting which is in the passage leading to the living area.

THE MASTER BEDROOM The master bedroom is designed such that it illuminates itself beautifully during the
day. The room has basic furniture consisting of a large wardrobe, double-bed and a
dressing table. They have utilised the lower space of the window pane for souvenirs and
artifacts, which they collected on their travel pursuits.

THE LIVING ROOM: A beautiful purple-and-grey velvette couch adorns the living room. The walls and the pillars in the room are designed having horizontal wooden strips. This combined with the wooden flooring enhances the look. The curtains in brown silk complement the wooden strips. The look is complete with beautiful artifacts and souvenirs collected from different parts of the world that have been prominently displayed in the room.

THE GUEST ROOM This room serves as a therapy and healing room for Mukta’s clients. "I use lavender aroma therapy oil to which brings a sense of calm in the room," says Mukta. Angel figures and crystals are neatly arranged all over the room. A colourful, ceramic folk painting done by her, adorns the wall of this room which lends to its brightness.
