I am looking for a camera for day-today use in a R30,000 budget. Please suggest. Amit Chauhan
Actually, R30,000 is a great budget. You can always buy an entry-level DSLR from leading camera makers such as Nikon or Canon, which you can expand by buying more lenses later on, and grow your photography skills as well. But, if you are looking at a camera that is portable and fits in your pocket, you can also look at some of the new-age point-and-shoot cameras.
There are several companies out there, but I find that currently Sony and Canon have the most versatile point-and-shoot cameras that not only perform both night and day photography well, but also give fast response.
There are a few things that you should keep in mind: test the camera before you buy it; cross-check with your friends if they have used the camera; if possible read reviews of the specific model you are checking out. But with the budget that you have mentioned, and if you do not have space constraints, my suggestion will still be to go with an entry level DSLR such as the Nikon D3100 or the D3200 or the Canon 1100D.
