How to beat winter blues

How to beat winter blues

The chill and gloom of winter can leave many people depressed. While nothing can be done to change the weather, a lot can be done to improve your mood. Try and follow these

simple steps:
To begin with, be regular with exercise. It not only helps you slim down and stay fit, but is also a great stressbuster. It boosts your energy levels and metabolism. In short, exercise is the easiest way to feel happier.
Believe it or not, what you eat not only affects your body, but also your mind. So, avoid refined and processed foods.
These are not only unhealthy, but also dampens your energy levels and leaves you feeling low and depressed.
There’s nothing to beat the gloom of winter like a bit of sunlight. Winter days are
shorter and darker, leaving a lot of people depressed. Experts say staying outdoors can work wonders to lift your mood. So, keep your doors and windows open.
Here’s another point to remember: You may feel like drowning your woes in alcohol, but it only worsens the situation. Alcohol
is a depressant and so, it’s best to avoid it when you are already depressed. Moderate drinking is fine, but binge drinking is a strict no-no. Last but not the least, plan something exciting. That will give you something to look forward to.
It’s important to take some time off from work and relax. So, spend some time every day doing absolutely nothing!
