Journey Back To ‘I’ Rajyogi Brahmakumar Nikunj ji

Journey Back To ‘I’
Rajyogi Brahmakumar Nikunj ji
We have all been living a life full of ‘I’ and ‘me’ ever since we were born, changing various masks throughout the day to suit a particular role. But have we ever asked ourselves who is behind all those masks?
The answer to this lies between the two words I and me. The ‘I’, that is the spirit that you are is your true essence; it is the only thing that remains when we take away all that we are not and all that we have accumulated over time. So, in essence, nothing owns us and we own nothing.
If we are not aware of the ‘I’ whilst playing the various ‘roles’ we have been assigned in our lives as a mother, father, brother, sister, friend etc, then ‘the role’ might take over us and we might choose our actions based on the character that we conceive, rather than based on pure love and compassion. We then start judging others too, on how well they are playing their part, forgetting that like us, they, too, are playing characters in this drama of the world.
The worst situation is when one of these roles is taken away from us (for example, family gets killed in a plane crash) or threatened in some way, we start feeling as if we are fighting for our survival and our life is at stake.
External things, from objects to people to roles, are all necessary to live in this world and this is apparently fine, but these very things are the root cause of attachments, and the real problem begins when we start making them ours and start identifying ourselves with them, making our beliefs strong in ‘me/ myself’ and forgetting the eternal ‘I’.
Hence, one must never forget that behind all the ‘me’, there is an ‘I’ that we all really are, that is our humanity, and this is a common factor to all of us. So let’s embark on the real journey, which is the journey back to ‘I’ with our true identity .
