Lose weight to be the head-turner at 31st night parties
It is time to pull out that stunning outfit from your closet as New Year approaches so that you attend the parties in style.
This is the time of the year when you would want to get back into shape so that you can do justice to your cocktail dress. That waist-coat wishes accentuate your waist.
The fitness trainers and nutritionists in the city have some tips for those looking to get back in shape.
Rachna Tripathi, nutritionist at Healthololics Gym, Seawoods, says, “The most important thing is to cut down junk food. Follow a low-calorie diet consisting of vegetable soup, tossed vegetables, sprouts salad, boiled or roasted chicken and salad. A light dinner is the best way to lose weight. A person can lose up to three-four kilograms in a month,” she says.
Tripathi suggests eating fruits during the day and drinking water keeps the body hydrated and glowing.
“One should keep in mind that dieting does not mean starving. It means eating healthy at regular intervals,” she adds.
Avirath Jadhav, Fitness Zone trainer from Belapur, says, “A balanced diet and regular exercising will help you lose weight. A brisk walk for at least 30 minutes daily is important. Cardio exercises like running and cycling will also give good results.” Parag Andhale, a trainer at Fit and Fine wellness centre, says that along with following a balanced diet, one must push his body.
“When it comes to cardio exercises, one should consider increasing the duration of the activity. For instance, if you are running for 15 minutes then increase it to 30 minutes. Weight training is essential to tone your muscles. One should also consider increasing to cover more rounds,” Andhale adds.
Prakriti Shah, a Vashi-based nutritionist, says, maintaining a simple diet and regular exercise is key.
“One must try to lose at least 500 calories a day. Exercise and diet would help,” Shah says.
