Mumbai walks for health
Having received an overwhelming number of registrations from its residents, Mumbai is all geared up to walk together for Health on November 4. As part of the Walk For Health initiative, Max Bupa carried out several programmes across the city’s corporate parks, joggers parks, schools and heritage sites over the last few weeks, bringing to fore the importance of walking. At MMRDA Grounds, walkers will be joined by celebrities, renowned public figures and the city’s popular RJs. Added attractions include Cartoon Network’s Ben 10, LIVE music and DJ, stilt walkers, zumba dance by experts and free health check-ups, besides a host of other surprises. The event will be aired LIVE on TIMES NOW along with live updates on a leading radio station. One celebrity who is practising hard to participate in the Walk for Health is actor Kunal Kapoor. He says, “I have observed the profound impact Walk for Health initiative has on the minds of the people around me. They now mak sure to catch up with their dose of daily walking in whatsoever form. In a city like Mumbai, most people inadvertently lead a fast-paced and sedentary life and walking is the cheapest and most convenient exercise to follow. As an advocate of walking, I will be there at Walk for Health this Sunday and would like every Mumbaikar to join me, whether their reason to do so is health, fun or pure bonding.”
Manasije Mishra, Chief Executive (Designate), Max Bupa, said, “Seeing thousands of people come together for the initiative is a demonstration of their willingness to move towards a healthier lifestyle. We aim at spreading awareness about the benefits of walking.”
Participants are expected to report on November 4, at the following venue by 6.30 am: Ground number R2, MMRDA Grounds, Bandra Kurla Complex, Bandra East, Mumbai - 400051.
