    There’s always that one man you’ve met and then wished, ‘Thank God that’s the first and final meeting’. You know, the sorcerer with good looks who made you squint for ‘just one look’, but later got you to thank your stars that you didn’t lose your eyesight because of him. In most cases, it’s just one behavioural trait that proves to be the final straw. We asked around to find out what would make a woman drop a guy like a hot potato. 

Riddhima Toshniwal, media professional: I’m a picky girl. I’d reject a guy for a number of things — being too religious and traditional, interest in gambling, or wanting a child. But number one on my list would be unkindness. A guy who is unkind, would, by definition be the sort of person who looks after himself first and others, never! Unkindness makes me think of malice, infidelity, egotism, immaturity, inconsiderateness, rigidity, and scariest of all — potential abuse. So, if you’re not a nice guy through and through, you’re out. I firmly believe that bad boys are bad news, regardless of their sex appeal! 

Raina Kshetry, Freelancer: Well, nobody is perfect. But, there are certain things in men that put me off. Firstly, their body odour. Doesn’t matter if you look like Brad Pitt, if your armpits smell, bye bye! The second would be the way he talks. Be it a cheesy pickup line or broken English, or even a wrong look, expect a walkout or a slap. Finally, being macho. Men need to understand that in being studs, they actually look like duds. 

Freya Dasgupta, media professional: Firstly, if he starts telling me what to do and how to live my life, he’s on my reject list. Then, if gets too clingy, mushy, corny or needy, I will chuck him out of my life. Also, if he cannot take a stand for me or for anyone else, or if he lacks ambition or the desire to know, I will not date him.  

Alysa Zubair, doctor: I was supposed to meet this guy on a date. Though I didn’t have to wait really long, the guy didn’t come on time. On probing him as to why he was late, he said he had been dodging his father, who was against him growing a goatee. He waited in his room till his father left the house. That was such a turn-off, an adult acting like a teenager wasn’t cute at all. If at 25, you aren’t allowed to develop your own sense of style or personality, that doesn’t speak much for you as a person. You clearly are letting people bully you into submission. And I hate weaklings, because they in turn bully others. That was my last date with him.
